I don’t write songs. I write hits.

I was never a sex fiend. I had a lot of girls, but I never did anything to them that they didn't want done to them. And I never forced myself on anybody. I just had a good time.

I never did like the Beatles. I didn't like their music. I thought it was corny.

My music is simple. It's country with a little bit of blues and a little bit of pop. It's not complicated. It's just good music.

I'm not a politician. I'm a musician. I play music. That's what I do.

I don't have any regrets. I've lived my life the way I wanted to live it.

I'm a black man, and I've been through a lot of things. But I've always kept my head up.

I never thought I'd be a rock and roll star. I just wanted to play my guitar and sing my songs.

I don't think about the past. I think about the present and the future.

I'm still learning. Every day is a new day, and I'm still learning.

I love to play music. It's my life. It's what I do.

I don't care what people say about me. I know who I am.

I'm a survivor. I've been through a lot, but I'm still here.

I believe in God. I believe in a higher power.

I'm a family man. I love my family.

I'm a humble man. I don't think I'm better than anyone else.

I'm a simple man. I like simple things.

I'm a happy man. I enjoy my life.

I'm a strong man. I can handle anything that comes my way.

I'm a positive man. I always look on the bright side of things.
