What an artist dies in me!

I have done nothing that I ought to be ashamed of.

Would that I had never learned to write!

Rome is better rebuilt than before.

I wish the Roman people had but a single neck.

The Greeks alone are worthy of my genius.

I am the equal of Apollo in music, of the Sun in driving a chariot.

When I die, let the earth be consumed by fire.

I have lived too long for my glory.

I have never approved of any law which did not protect the lives and fortunes of all.

I confess, I am the only one who can sing.

One day I will drive chariots.

I wish to do away with the Senate.

I have always hated the people.

I will build a city that will bear my name.

I will destroy Rome and build a new city.

I will marry a boy.

I will sing on the stage.

I will kill my wife.

I will kill my brother.
