"I am Lucifer, the bringer of light."
"Every man and every woman is a star."
"This is my real bed-rock objection to the eastern systems. They decry all manly virtue as dangerous and wicked, and they look upon Nature as evil."
"The sin which is unpardonable is knowingly and wilfully to reject truth, to fear knowledge lest that knowledge pander not to thy prejudices."
"I am here to destroy the old order and establish the new."
English occultist who founded Thelema, wrote The Book of the Law (1904), and was branded 'the wickedest man in the world' by the British press. Closely associated with W.B. Yeats (fellow Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn member who came to despise him). For an intellectual contrast, see G.K. Chesterton, English Christian apologist and Father Brown author — Chesterton and Crowley were Edwardian London contemporaries arguing for opposite metaphysical systems — Chesterton's restored-Christianity rationalism is the precise opposite of Crowley's 'Do what thou wilt' Thelema.
