Argentine Marxist revolutionary, second-in-command of the Cuban Revolution under Castro, executed in Bolivia in 1967 attempting to export the revolution. Closely associated with Fidel Castro (revolutionary partner) and Camilo Cienfuegos (fellow Cuban revolutionary commander). For an intellectual contrast, see Félix Rodríguez, Cuban-American CIA officer — Rodríguez led the Bolivian team that captured Che in 1967 and was present at his execution.
